DEATH VALLEY DRIVER To Open For METALLICA In Halifax

According to The Guardian, the Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada-based band DEATH VALLEY DRIVER will open for METALLICA this Thursday, July 14on the Halifax Garrison Grounds at Rock The Hill 2011 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

"I can't wait," said DEATH VALLEY DRIVER vocalist Dan Hodgson. "Going to concerts like this before I'd always be saying to myself, 'I wish I could play that type of stage.'"

The band was chosen to open for METALLICA after performing for judges at Friday's Clash of the Bands at Monte's Showbar in Dartmouth.

DEATH VALLEY DRIVER was up against four other bands two local to Halifax for the opening spot.

They were the third band to take stage for their 30-minute set and Hodgson said the crowd's reaction was strong.
